Over 200 Bulakenyos receive vital aid from Kuya Alan and Ate Pia

The resilience and hope of over 200 Bulakenyos were bolstered by the generosity of Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano on Monday, June 24, 2024.

Held at the Municipality of Calumpit, the aid distribution helped 222 Bulakenyos from various parts of the province.

Known for their advocacy to support vulnerable groups such as the beneficiaries who are calamity victims, women’s groups, and barangay volunteers, the Cayetanos initiated the distribution program to help them recover economically and start anew.

Among those who received help is Micah Agalo, a mom and owner of a small business, who said the aid she received will help defray the costs of their family’s daily expenses.

“Idagdag ko po ito pang puhunan para lumago ng kaunti [ang aking sari-sari store] at gagamitin kong pambili ng gamit ng anak sa pasukan. Malaking tulong po talaga,” Agalo said.

Another beneficiary, senior citizen Dolores Lorenzo, said the aid will help sustain her maintenance medicines.

“Malaking tulong po ito dahil pareho kaming mag-asawa na nag mamaintenance [medicine],” Lorenzo, who is from Malolos, said.

For this initiative, the Cayetanos joined with Former Bulacan 1st District Representatives Jose Antonio “Kuya” Sy-Alvarado and Victoria Sy-Alvarado.

They accomplished this in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.

In their desire to see real transformation in the country, Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano remain dedicated to transforming lives and rebuilding hope among the kababayan.
