Senior citizens in Zambales get vital aid from Kuya Alan and Ate Pia

Hundreds of senior citizens in Zambales were able to meet their needs at a time of personal crisis after receiving assistance from Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano this week.

The Cayetanos’ Bayanihan Caravan disbursed a total of P1.5 million to 750 senior citizens through the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.

AICS is a social protection program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) that provides financial aid to underprivileged Filipinos facing significant life challenges such as food insecurity, health issues, educational needs, or the death of a family member.

This initiative, held at the Subic Sports Complex, was held in coordination with Zambales 1st District Rep. Jefferson “Jay” Khonghun and Subic Mayor Jon Khonghun.

Through the Bayanihan Caravan, the two Cayetanos continue to collaborate with national agencies and local government units to help vulnerable Filipinos empower themselves and overcome various socio-economic hardships.
