Kababayans urged to seek free legal help from public service program CIA with Boy Abunda

Determined to follow the footsteps of his late father Senator Rene “Compañero” Cayetano, Senator Alan Peter Cayetano on Thursday encouraged oppressed and legally troubled Filipinos to seek free help from the Cayetano in Action with Boy Abunda (CIA with BA) show.

“Sa ating mga kababayan, lalo na y’ung mga may malalaking problema sa kanilang buhay, whether financial or relational, huwag kayong magdalawang-isip na lumapit sa amin ni Ate Pia,” Cayetano said on February 9, 2023.

The Senator said acting as peacemaker between two disputing parties is a blessing for him as he is able to help families reconcile. He added that the program is a continuation of the legacy of his father, whose radio and television program “Compañero y Compañera” gave similar public service from 1997 to 2001.

“My dad’s purpose, aside from serving the LORD, was to practice the law. Na-realize niya na kaya niya pinag-aralan ang batas ay dahil sa mabubuting magagawa niya dito sa Senado at sa batas. And I can relate to him,” Cayetano said.

The on-air legal advice program, co-hosted by Senator Pia Cayetano and the country’s King of Talk Boy Abunda, airs every Sunday, 11:30 p.m. on GMA 7 with replays on Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. on GTV.

The show premiered on February 5, 2023 with the sibling senators – who are both lawyers – helping resolve a dispute between a woman and her niece. The former had accused the latter of having an affair with and receiving financial support from her husband.

The Cayetanos also enlightened a mother who was having conflicted feelings about her husband’s inclination to prioritize the financial need of his brother in need of regular dialysis.

“First and foremost allow me to thank ang ating Panginoong Diyos sa birth ng CIA with BA,” Cayetano said.

He also thanked everyone who supported the show’s pilot episode as well as the team behind it.

“Samahan niyo po kaming alamin ang iba’t ibang buhay ng ating mga kababayan hindi para sa entertainment lang kundi para makapulot ng aral tungkol sa batas, pamilya, at pagmamahal sa kapwa,” Cayetano said.
