Two thousand Batangueños received much-needed assistance from the offices of Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano during a two-day distribution event as part of the sibling senators’ ongoing community support initiatives.
The disbursement of aid, held on May 21 and May 23, 2024, was held at the municipalities of San Jose, San Luis, and Bauan, Batangas City.
The Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) Program, a social welfare drive by the Cayetano siblings in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), delivered relief to vulnerable sectors including farmers, students, women, solo parents, Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), individuals needing medical assistance, and bereaved families.
The distribution unfolded in two sessions on May 21. In the morning, 435 beneficiaries gathered at a covered court in San Jose, San Luis, Batangas, to receive aid. In the afternoon, the Herminigildo Jasa Dolor Coliseum in Bauan, Batangas, saw 622 more beneficiaries receiving support.
The AICS Program provided educational, medical, and burial assistance that gave hope to the Batangueño beneficiaries amid the economic challenges facing the country.
On May 23, the focus shifted to livelihood aid, with 851 individuals from 35 associations benefiting from the senators’ initiatives.
The success of this distribution was made possible through the coordination of former Batangas 2nd congressional district Representative Raneo Enriquez Abu, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the senators for their support to his constituents.
Looking ahead, the AICS Program is set to make its way to Pampanga, Laguna, and Davao, aiming to extend immediate support to more Filipinos, especially those in dire need.
