‘True love’ highlighted at Taguig’s Love at the Park launch

True love was in the air in the City of Taguig on Monday as Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and Mayor Lani Cayetano officially led the launch of “Love at the Park,” a leisure park spruced up by the city government where couples, families, and friends can celebrate the love month with the scenic view of Laguna lake.

In a pre-Valentine’s Day message on February 13, 2023, the senator emphasized the true meaning of love, which he said comes from God and moves His people to do what is right.

“When we say Happy Valentine’s Day, we celebrate a God who loves and takes lordship of our city,” the senator said in his pre-Valentine message.

Cayetano said this is one of the reasons the city government invests in community facilities and services for Taguigeños.

“We have to reserve our areas for parks, for our new City Hall, for universities, for our hospitals — para po matikman ng mga taga-Taguig ang biyaya ng ating Panginoon,” he said.

The park, which is located in a 6-hectare area at the TLC Village Lakeshore Laguna Lake Highway, is open to the public from February 14 to 26, 2023 from 5 to 10 p.m.

The area was redesigned in time for Valentine’s Day after the successful “Christmas by the Lake” run during the December 2022 holiday season.

Pastor Dominador Corpuz led the dedication, which was followed by the lighting ceremony and walk-through of the park by city government officials.

The love vibe was all the more felt around the park when photos of married couples from Kasalang Bayan, young and old Taguigeño lovers, and even of the Cayetano couple were flashed in an audio-visual presentation along with the performance of a musical quartet.

The successful launch was fully supported by city government officials who were present, namely City Vice Mayor Arvin Alit, City Administrator Atty. Jose Luis Montales, ABC President Councilor Jorge Bocobo, and District 1 Councilors Jimmy Labampa, Raul Aquino, Carlito Ogalinola, Joy Panga-Cruz, Gigi Valenzuela De Mesa, Totong Mañosca, and Tikboy Marcelino.

City of Taguig District 2 Councilors Marisse Balina-Eron, Jomil Serna, Alex Penolio, Edgar Baptista, Nicky Supan, Ed Prado, Jaime Garcia, and Yasser Pangadaman; as well as Sangguniang Kabataan President Beng Maximo also joined the event.

“Please pray with us that our facilities here along Lakeshore will be improved and made permanent. Let us dedicate this to the Lord and declare that he is King over this place,” Senator Cayetano said.
