An Act Strengthening Our Primary Health Care System Through the Appointment of Sufficient Barangay Health Workers in Cities and Municipalities and Granting Them Status as Job Order, Contractual, Casual, or Regular Employees and Further Strengthening the Barangay Healthcare System

This bill mandates a city or Municipal Mayor, in coordination with the Sangguniang Panlungsod or Sangguniang Bayan, to determine the number of Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) sufficient to satisfactorily deliver primary healthcare to its constituents. Further, through this measure, the BHWs shall be hired and receive compensation as job order, casual, contractual, or regular employees.
