“Hindi po palagi na maayos ang kita at mahirap po ang mag-ipon lalo na kung nagba-boundary.”
This is the reality for many tricycle operators, a sentiment Jerson Borlagdatan expressed when asked about his experience. His words resonate with others in his line of work — a sector that Senators Alan Peter and Pia Cayetano recently supported in the province of Camarines Norte.
“Nagpapasalamat po ako at bihira po itong mangyari. Y’ung mga ganitong ayuda, malaking tulong na po ito sa amin lalo na sa pang-konsumo ng mga pagkain,” Borlagdatan said, thanking the senators for the timely aid he received.
On June 6, 2024, a thousand members of the Tricycle Operators and Drivers’ Association (TODA) in the Municipality of Labo received support to help meet their families’ needs.
The senators partnered with the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) to deliver this aid successfully in the area.
The distribution was organized in coordination with Camarines Norte 1st District Representative Josefina “Josie” Tallado, who voiced her gratitude to the senators on behalf of the beneficiaries.
“Aking pasasalamat po sa magkapatid na Senator Alan Peter at Senator Pia Cayetano sa parating tulong na ibinibigay sa aming distrito. Sana po huwag kayong magsawa na bigyan kami ng tulong. Mabuhay po kayo!” she said.
On the same day, essential assistance was also extended to various communities in Cebu, Pampanga, and the National Capital Region (NCR) by the offices of the senators.
These initiatives are part of the Cayetanos’ ongoing efforts to support marginalized communities across the country. They work closely with government agencies and local units to ensure that Filipinos in need receive the necessary assistance.
