Cayetano’s Pasko ng Pagkabuhay encouragement amid oil crisis: There is always hope

‘Pasko ng Pagkabuhay’ speaks of a fuller expression of hope, joy, and renewal through the resurrection of Jesus Christ — a reminder that hope endures even in the hardest times.

This was the focus of Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano’s Holy Week reflection, highlighting the deeper spiritual meaning of Resurrection Sunday on April 5.

“I prefer to say ‘Pasko ng Pagkabuhay’ because when you say ‘Pasko’ in Filipino, it’s really pure joy and celebration,” Kuya Alan said in a Facebook Live.

He explained that it is ultimately a message of hope as it reminds believers that Christ’s purpose was to reconcile humanity with God and offer eternal life.

“Christ’s purpose of coming to this world is to reconcile us with God, that through His blood we can be acceptable to the Lord Father, that we may enter His kingdom, and that we may be His ambassadors,” he explained.

Amid rising fuel costs and ongoing uncertainties, Cayetano said God provides strength, direction, and the assurance that no situation is beyond His help.

“The first thing (to do) is not to panic… There is always hope, and there is always a solution in our Lord. No matter how dark it is, no matter what the time is — whether it’s financial, sickness, fighting family, fighting neighbors — all of that has a solution,” he said.

He encouraged people to actively seek God first, trusting that their needs will be met and that clarity will follow even in moments of struggle. This posture of faith, he said, anchors individuals in hope rather than fear.

“Seek first. This is active. First means inuuna. So if you’re seeking a job, (better) finances, seeking reconciliation with family members, a wife or husband — lahat iyan importante. Pero sabi ni Lord, ‘seek first my kingdom and righteousness’,” he said.

“Remember that you are significant. You’re important sa ating Panginoon…

“I prefer to say ‘Pasko ng Pagkabuhay’ because when you say ‘Pasko’ in Filipino, it’s really pure joy and celebration,” wika ni Kuya Alan nitong April 5 sa isang Facebook Live.

“Christ’s purpose of coming to this world is to reconcile us with God, that through His blood we can be acceptable to the Lord Father, that we may enter His kingdom, and that we may be His ambassadors,” paliwanag niya.

“The first thing (to do) is not to panic…There is always hope, and there is always a solution to our Lord. No matter how dark it is, no matter what the time is — whether it’s financial, sickness, fighting family, fighting neighbors — all of that has a solution,” aniya.

“Seek first. This is active. First means inuuna. So if you’re seeking a job, (better) finances, seeking reconciliation with family members, a wife or husband — lahat iyan importante. Pero sabi ni Lord, ‘seek first my kingdom and righteousness’,” udyok niya.

“Remember that you are significant. You’re important sa ating Panginoon…
